Events & Community

Events & Community

The MI Charlotte Events (Charlotte’s Community Calendar) is full of activities that we would all like to be able to do during this time.  Events that take weeks, months, or even a year to plan.  Although it is not easy to watch the days and weeks slip by there are still many ways to engage with each other and our community, if we do so creatively. Everyday I see the people of Charlotte on social media and it is evident that Charlotte is still a very active, and more than that, an event and community driven town.

Over the past 3 weeks many families have begun arts & crafts projects, found wonderful stories to read together, played games in the yard, gone for walks, and had meals together regularly.  A large number of individuals have seen the needs of others in the community and stepped up to fill that need.  We have individuals making and donating masks for our health care workers, businesses and individuals working together to provide meals for children at no cost, businesses pooling resources to help each other find ways to continue to operate, and our schools and teachers providing meals and any form of educational assistance possible for families that are having to continue their children’s education at home.

During the next 3 weeks I would like to encourage individuals and businesses or organizations to post events and activities they are doing while following the Stay Home, Stay Safe Order to the MICharlotteEvents Facebook Page. In times like this it is vital to remind each other that just because life is different, it doesn’t mean the fun and fighting spirit of Charlotte has changed. Are you having a back yard Easter Egg Hunt this weekend? Will you be grilling out? Maybe it is board game night?  Let us know your events.

In addition to posting individual events share with us how you would like to see Charlotte Celebrate it’s Grand Re-Opening of activities this year.  Thank you for supporting each other.
